Binding off is how you secure the stitches at the end of your project so you can take your knitting off the needles without everything unraveling. It's an essential skill and one you'll use at the end of almost every knitting project.
In this video, Jennifer walks you through how to bind off step by step so you can follow along at your own pace.
What You'll Need
To practice binding off you'll need: your knitting, needles and your working yarn. Shop our Beginner Knitting Essentials for yarn, needles and everything you need to get started. Binding off is easier than it may look. Take your time as you work across teh row. Try to keep your stitches relaxed so your finished edge isn't too tight. The more you knit, the more natural everything will start to feel.
